Protein Expression & Production

Overview

Recombinant protein expression and production involve introducing a gene of interest into a suitable host system that can transcribe and translate it into the target protein. This multi-step process typically includes gene cloning, transformation or transfection, expression induction, protein folding and modification, and purification.

Recombinant expression systems

Choosing the right expression system is crucial for successful recombinant protein production. An inappropriate system can result in inactive or unstable proteins, poor functionality in downstream applications, and increased costs.
